Highest Individual Score in CSK vs MI IPL Matches

#5: Michael Hussey’s 86 vs CSK 2013

Score: 86*(58) // SR: 148.3 // 4s: 10 // 6s: 2

The number 5 knock comes from one of Chennai Super Kings’ most consistent batters, Michael Hussey. 2013 was the time when Hussey was in prime having also won the Orange cap. The knock was special as Hussey scored a brilliant match-winning 86 off 58 balls with 10 fours and 2 sixes to help CSK reach a good score of 192. MI in chase could only manage 144 as CSK won the match by a huge 48 runs margin.

#4: Rohit Sharma’s 87 vs CSK 2011

Score: 87(48) // SR: 181.2 // 4s: 8 // 6s: 5

The number 4 on the list comes from Rohit Sharma in his debut season with Mumbai Indians. In fact, this was his first knock for MI in IPL, and that too batting at number 4. Rohit scored a match-winning 87 off 48 balls with 8 fours and 5 sixes to help MI reach a defendable total of 164/4. In reply, CSK could only manage 156 as MI won the match by 8 runs.

#3: Kieron Pollard’s 87 vs CSK 2021

Score: 87*(34) // SR: 255.9 // 4s: 6 // 6s: 8

Undoubtedly the most belligerent and the most underrated knock in MI vs CSK clashes. Pollard has always had great success against CSK, but this knock came in a situation where nobody expected Pollard to do that. Chasing 219, MI were 81/3 after 10 overs. With 138 needed of the last 10, the chase seems improbable. But Pollard did the unthinkable as he smashed a belligerent 87 off 34 balls to seal the chase on the last ball for MI.

#2: Ruturaj Gaikwad’s 88 vs MI 2021

Score: 88*(58) // SR: 151.7 // 4s: 9 // 6s: 4

The number 2 on the list comes from the Orange Cap holder of IPL 2021, Ruturaj Gaikwad. It was the year Ruturaj proved to the world what kind of player he is. A knock of supreme importance as it came on a difficult pitch. Batting first, Ruturaj played a lone battle to help CSK reach a defendable total of 156/7 in 20 overs. Ruturaj scored 87 of those runs from 58 deliveries with 9 fours and 4 sixes. Courtesy of the knock, CSK won the match by 20 runs.

#1: Sanath Jayasuriya’s 114 vs CSK 2008

Score: 114*(48) // SR: 237.5 // 4s: 9 // 6s: 11

Number 1 on the list comes from Sanath Jayasuriya in the debut IPL season. A knock of authority if you can describe it as Jayasuriya smashed a mind-boggling century in a decent chase of 156. Jayasuriya smashed 89.5% of his runs in boundaries during his knock of 114 off 48 balls. Such was the dynamic knock that MI chased 157 in just 13.5 overs.
