CWG 2022: Dominant India Women Create a Unique Record vs Pakistan
Smriti Mandhana and bowlers help Team India register a unique record vs Pakistan at Commonwealth Games (CWG 2022).
After a marginal loss against Australia in the Commonwealth Games 2022, Team India have bounced back strongly. Smriti Mandhana and Indian bowlers dominate arch rivals Pakistan as they crush them by 8 wickets in the group stage match.
Having asked to field first, India dominated Pakistan Women’s batters as they were bundled out for just 99 runs; their lowest total in Commonwealth Games. Sneh Rana and Radha Yadav were the star bowlers for India as they took 2 wickets each.
Chasing 100, Smriti Mandhana led from the front as her fluent 63* off 42 balls helped India chase the target in just 11.4 overs. This is Team India’s biggest win over Pakistan in T20Is in terms of balls remaining (46 balls).
India will now face Barbados coming Wednesday. A win against them means India shall qualify for the semi finals. Meanwhile, here’s the detailed match summary for the group stage match between India Women and Pakistan Women
