CWG 2022: India Women Register 2nd-biggest Victory in T20Is

Renuka Singh’s best bowling spell in T20Is help India Women enter the semi-final after their record win vs Barbados at Commonwealth Games (CWG 2022).

Another day, another record for the Indian Women team in the ongoing Commonwealth Games 2022. While the victory against Pakistan was their biggest vs Pakistan in terms of balls remaining, the victory against Barbados was another record breaker.

Batting first, India Women managed to score 162/4 in 20 overs.; courtesy to Jemimah Rodrigeus’ 56* off 46 balls and Shafali Verma’s 43 off 26 balls. In reply, Renuka Singh breath fire once again with a spell of 4/10. Courtesy of her spell, Barbados Women could only manage 62/8 in 20 overs.   

India Women managed to win against Barbados by a whooping 100 runs. This is their second-biggest victory against any team in T20Is. Also, this is India’s biggest victory in England in T20Is. To recall, the biggest victory for India stands at 142 runs against Malaysian women at Kuala Lumpur 2018. 

With this win, India Women have entered the Semi final of CWG 2022. They will now face one of England Women or New Zealand Women in the semi final. Meanwhile, Australia Women from Group A have already qualified for the Semi-final. The semi finals will be played on August 6, 2022.
