UP Warriorz, the standout as we look at the overseas players list ranking for all 5 teams for WPL 2023.

We call it the Women’s Premier League for Women’s IPL and Indian Premier League for Men’s IPL. While the objective for both tournaments is to promote Indian talent, one cannot deny the fact that Overseas players add a lot of flavours and bring forward an array of excitement to the table.

The first edition of the Women’s Premier League shall witness a total of 30 overseas players getting featured from countries across the world. Not only are they going to play in the tournament, but we are also going to witness 3 overseas captains in WPL 2023.

Every team has invested a huge chunk of their money in overseas players. Won’t it be interesting to see how the teams stack up basis their six overseas players? Well, this is exactly what we would find out in this article. So, without wasting much time, let’s take a look at the ranking of the 5 teams based on their overseas players.

To help us arrive at the ranking, all 5 teams are ranked basis of their cumulative six overseas player ratings. Players are relatively rated basis the benchmark players in their respective categories like Openers, Middle-order, Finishers, All-rounder, Pacer, and Spinner. The rating for all the players is derived basis of their current International Cricket rank.

#5: Gujarat Giants – 7.513

At number 5, we have the Gujarat Giants, who even before the tournament officially began, suffered a big loss in the form of Deandra Dottin. The team has roped in All-rounder Kim Garth in her place, but of course, it isn’t a like-for-like replacement. Overall, Gujarat Giants have a rating of 7.513 in the overseas players category.

The team has Beth Mooney and Ashleigh Garder as the benchmark players with a perfect rating of 10. Then they have a solid option in the form of Sophia Dunkley with a rating of 8.75. However, apart from these three options, the team isn’t so strong with Georgia Wareham at 6.33, Annabel Sutherland at 5, and Kim Garth at 5.
