The IPL 2023 Auction invoked so much excitement that we just cannot ignore the amount of money that was pumped in to acquire the services of a few players. Until last year, Indian players were the ones that had the highest wages, but IPL 2023 Auction changed everything.

It is always exciting to know the kind of salary that the highest paid players get in the Indian Premier League. So, in this article, we take a look at 11 such players who would form a part of the highest paid players 11 for the IPL 2023. 

Please note, to calculate the highest paid players 11 for IPL 2023, we shall keep at least 1 wicket-keeper, 2 all-rounders, 2 pacers, and 2 spinners. The players are selected keeping their salary as a priority, irrespective of whether they are Indian or Overseas.  

Top-order

#1: Ishan Kishan – INR 15.25 Cr

The second-costly Wicket-keeper of IPL 2023 is the pocket rocket from Mumbai Indians, Ishan Kishan, who has a salary of 15.25 Cr. The stylish left-hander rose to prominence in IPL 2020, and since then has only seen his graph go upwards. 

#2: Rohit Sharma – INR 16 Cr

Partnering Ishan at the top is the Captain and the second-costly player of Mumbai Indians, Rohit Sharma, who has a salary of 16 Cr. Rohit is already the all-time third-highest salaried person in IPL behind only MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli.

#3: KL Rahul – INR 17 Cr

The highest paid Indian player at the moment is the captain of Lucknow Super Giants, KL Rahul, who has a salary of 17 Cr. KL was purchased by Lucknow for 17 Cr in 2021, and he then became the all-time joint-highest salaried Indian player alongside Virat Kohli.

#4: Nicholas Pooran – INR 16 Cr

Nicholas Pooran, who has mostly been an under-par cricketer in IPL got a whopping bid of 16 Cr from Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2023. He is currently the second-highest salaried person from Lucknow Super Giants behind KL Rahul.

#5: Rishabh Pant – INR 16 Cr

There are doubts over Delhi Capitals’ Captain, Rishabh Pant’s participation in IPL 2023 given the recovery state of his Accident. But that takes away nothing from the fact that he is the costliest Delhi Capitals player with a salary of 16 Cr.

#6: Ben Stookes – INR 16.25 Cr

At number 6, we have the costliest player from CSK, Ben Stokes, who has a salary of 16.25 Cr. CSK made history in IPL when they bid 16.25 Cr for Ben Stokes in IPL 2023 Auction; thus making him the costliest CSK player in the history of IPL.  

#7: Hardik Pandya – INR 15 Cr

Number 7 sees the Captain and the joint-costliest player of Gujarat Titans, Hardik Pandya with a salary of 15 Cr. Hardik was released by Mumbai Indians in IPL 2022, and was then acquired by Gujarat Titans for 15 Cr.

#8: Cameron Green – INR 17.5 Cr

At number 8, we have the costliest player from Mumbai Indians, Cameron Green with a salary of 17.5 Cr. Green, who has been impressive in T20Is in 2021 and onwards was acquired by Mumbai Indians in IPL 2023 Auction for a whopping salary of 17.5 Cr; thus making him the second most expensive player in the history of IPL.

Lower-order: 

#9: Ravindra Jadeja – INR 16 Cr

Number 8 sees another star all-rounder from CSK, Ravindra Jadeja, with a salary of 16 Cr. Jaddu has been an integral part of CSK over the years, and was thus retained by them in IPL 2022. He is also the costliest Indian All-rounder in IPL 2023.

#10: Sam Curran – INR 18.5 Cr

Number 10 is the highest paid player in the history of IPL, Sam Curran with a salary of 18.5 Cr. Punjab Kings made a remarkable move in IPL 2023 Auction when they hired Sam for an unheard amount in IPL, 18.5 Cr.  He remains a key for PBKS in IPL 2023. So, It would be interesting to see how copes up with such a salary.

#11: Rashid Khan – INR 15 Cr 

Finally, the 11th player in the team is the Vice-captain and the joint-highest salaried player in IPL 2023, Rashid Khan. Rashid was given a salary of 15 Cr by Gujarat Titans when he was retained by them in IPL 2022.

So, that’s about the highest paid player for IPL 2023. Out of the 11 players mentioned in the article, 4 players were purchased in the Auction. Whereas, the rest 7 players were already retained by the franchises in IPL 2022.
