India vs New Zealand 2023: Official ODI and T20 Series Schedule

India vs Australia, Sri Lanka (SL), and New Zealand (NZ) 2023 home series to begin on January 3, 2023 as we look at the official schedule download. 

The BCCI on Thursday announced the official schedule for the upcoming action-packed home series starting in 2023. The start of 2023 and between IPL 2023 will see Sri Lanka, New Zealand, and Australia touring India for a mix of ODI, T20I, and Test series. 

Team India will play a total of 19 matches within a period of 3 months before the players disburse to play the IPL 2023.  The 19 matches will include 6 T20Is, 9 ODIs, and 4 Tests. The Tests shall be a part of the World Test Championship. Whereas the ODIs shall act as a preparation for the ODI World Cup 2023. 

In terms of venue, as many as 17 unique venues have been selected to play the 19 matches. The only venues that shall repeat include Mumbai and Ahmedabad. While Mumbai will host the 1st T20I and 1st ODI vs Sri Lanka and Australia respectively, Ahmedabad will host the 3rd ODI and 4th Test vs New Zealand and Australia respectively.  

The home series will not only see senior players playing most of the matches, but will also see an opportunity for the young guns to take a step ahead in the International arena. So, as we wait for the matches to begin, let’s look at the official schedule for all 3 series.   

#1: India vs Sri Lanka 2023

Sri Lanka will first tour India between January 03 to January 15, 2023. Both teams will play a total of 6 matches including 3 T20Is and 3 ODIs. The venues for the matches include Mumbai, Pune, Rajkot, Guwahati, Kolkata, and Trivandrum. So, here’s the official schedule for India vs Sri Lanka 2023 T20I and ODI series.  

India vs Sri Lanka 2023 Official T20I Series Schedule:

  • 1st T20I –  Jan 03 @ Mumbai
  • 2nd T20I – Jan 05 @ Pune
  • 3rd T20I – Jan 07 @ Rajkot

India vs Sri Lanka 2023 Official ODI Series Schedule:

  • 1st ODI – Jan10 @ Guwahati
  • 2nd ODI – Jan 12 @ Kolkata
  • 3rd ODI – Jan 15 @ Trivandrum

#2: India vs New Zealand 2023

New Zealand will follow Sri Lanka with 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is being played between January 18 to February 01, 2023. The venues for the matches include Hyderabad, Raipur, Indore, Ranchi, Lucknow, and Ahmedabad. So, here’s the official schedule for India vs New Zealand 2023 T20I and ODI series.  

India vs New Zealand 2023 Official ODI Series Schedule:

  • 1st ODI –  Jan 18 @ Hyderabad
  • 2nd ODI – Jan 21 @ Raipur
  • 3rd ODI – Jan 24 @ Indore

India vs New Zealand 2023 Official T20I Series Schedule:

  • 1st T20I –  Jan 27 @ Ranchi
  • 2nd T20I – Jan 29 @ Lucknow
  • 3rd T20I – Feb 01 @ Ahmedabad

#3: India vs Australia 2023

Finally, after Sri Lanka and New Zealand, Australia will tour India in 2023 to play a total of 4 Tests and 3 ODIs. Australia won’t play T20Is as agreed between both the boards. The 4 Tests shall be played between February 09 to March 13, 2023. Whereas the ODI series shall follow them from March 17 to March 22, 2023. So, here’s the official schedule for India vs Australia 2023 Test and ODI series.  

India vs Australia 2023 Official Test Series Schedule:

  • 1st Test – Feb 9-13 @ Nagpur
  • 2nd Test  – Feb 17-21 @ Delhi
  • 3rd Test  – March 01-05 @ Dharamsala
  • 4th Test  – March 9-13 @ Ahmedabad

India vs Australia 2023 Official ODI Series Schedule:

  • 1st ODI – March 17 @ Mumbai
  • 2nd ODI – March 19 @ Vizag
  • 3rd ODI – March 22 @ Chennai

So, that’s about the official schedule for India vs Australia, NZ, and SL 2023 home series. It’s another action-packed series for the hosts. Given the concerns surrounding the injuries, it would be interesting to see what squad Team India select for all these series. Most likely, we should see a junior team play against Sri Lanka. Whereas the experienced players should make themselves available for the Australia series and New Zealand ODIs.
