India vs New Zealand 2022: Official T20 and ODI Series Squad List

Hardik Pandya and Shikhar Dhawan to lead as we look at the official squad players list for the 2022 India vs New Zealand ODI and T20 series. 

With Team India currently playing in the T20 World Cup 2022, The Chetan Sharma-led selection committee of BCCI on Monday shared the official squad for the ODI and T20I series vs New Zealand; just after T20 World Cup 2022. 

Team India will be touring New Zealand for the 3-match T20I and ODI series starting November 18. The T20I series shall be played from November 18 to November 22. Whereas the ODI series shall be played from November 25 to November 30. 

BCCI has selected a total of 16 players each for the T20I as well as the ODI series. With primary captain Rohit Sharma rested from both series, Shikhar Dhawan shall be leading the ODI side and Hardik Pandya shall be leading the T20I side. Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant shall be the deputy in both series. 

From the T20 team standpoint, BCCI has rested Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Mohammed Shami, and Virat Kohli, who are also a part of the T20 World Cup squad. Whereas it is understood, that Dinesh Karthik, Axar Patel, and Ravichandran Ashwin may not be considered for the T20 squad hereafter.

Instead, Team India have selected the likes of Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, Ishan Kishan, and Sanju Samson among batters and wicket-keepers. In place of Axar Patel, Washington Sundar got a nod. Whereas in place of Mohammed Siraj and Ravichandran Ashwin, Mohammed Siraj and Umran Malik. Surprisingly, Kuldeep Yadav got a nod ahead of Ravi Bishnoi as an extra spinner.

• 3rd Match – Nov 22 @ Napier

For the ODI squad, India have selected Shikhar Dhawan in place of Ishan Kishan. In addition, Shahbaz Ahmed got an opportunity in place of Hardik Pandya, who has been rested. Whereas in the bowling department, Kuldeep Sen, Deepak Chahar, and Shardul Thakur have been selected for Mohammed Siraj, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Harshal Patel.
