The 2023 season for Team India begins with Sri Lanka visiting India for the 3-match T20 and ODI series. It’s the series that shall see Team India playing with two different Captains. While Hardik shall lead the T20I side, Rohit shall lead the ODI side.
The 2023 Sri Lanka series officially kicks off with the 3-match T20I series on January 3rd. The first T20I shall be played on Jan 3rd in Mumbai, the second T20I on Jan 5th in Pune, and 3rd T20I on January 7th in Rajkot. All matches shall start at 7 pm IST.
With many senior players missing, the T20I series promises to be a great opportunity for the young guns to make an impression on the biggest stage. So, here’s the official schedule for Team India for the T20I series vs Sri Lanka.
India vs Sri Lanka 2023 Official T20I Series Schedule:
- 1st T20I – Jan 03 @ Mumbai, 7 pm IST
- 2nd T20I – Jan 05 @ Pune, 7 pm IST
- 3rd T20I – Jan 07 @ Rajkot, 7 pm IST
The 3-match ODI series follows the T20I series with matches starting on Jan 10th. The first ODI shall be played on Jan 10th in Guwahati, the second ODI on Jan 12th in Kolkata, and the third ODI on Jan 15th in Trivandrum. Meanwhile, unlike the T20Is, the ODIs shall start from 1:30 pm IST.
The ODI series marks the first step India shall be taking as a preparation for the ODI World Cup 2023. As understood from the BCCI sync-up meeting, the current 16-member is a part of the 20-member core that will play the upcoming ODIs on a rotational basis.
