India vs West Indies 2022: 1st T20I Official Playing 11 for Both

Rohit Sharma returns as we look at the official playing 11 for both teams for the 2022 1st T20I India vs West Indies (WI).

Toss:

Nicholas Pooran wins the toss, and opts to field first. The match starts at 8 pm IST, and will be played at Tarouba. 

Team News:

For Team India, Rohit Sharma is back to lead the squad. In terms of the team combination, Rishabh Pant will open alongside Rohit Sharma. Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja are the two all-rounders. Whereas Harshal Patel, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ravi Bishnoi, and Arshdeep Singh are the front-line bowlers. 

For West Indies, Shimron Hetmyer is back in the squad as a big boost to West Indies’ batting. Apart from him, West Indies didn’t make any changes to the playing 11. So, here’s the official playing 11 for both the teams for the 1st T20I between India and West Indies.

Kyle Mayers, Shamarh Brooks, Jason Holder, Shimron Hetmyer, Nicholas Pooran(C&WK), Rovman Powell, Akeal Hosein, Odean Smith, Keemo Paul, Alzarri Joseph & Obed McCoy

To recap, India won the ODI series 3-0, and would be hoping to win the T20I series 5-0. They can definitely do it with the kind of squad they have. However, it would be interesting to see how they approach the games.
