India vs West Indies 2022: Team India Complete ODI Series Whitewash

Shubman Gill and Yuzvendra Chahal help Team India whitewash the 2022 ODI series vs West Indies.  

The Shikhar Dhawan led Team India had a complete dominance over the West Indies team. Having already won the first two matches of the ODI series, Team India completed a whitewash with series ending at 3-0. This is the first time any Indian Captain has been able to whitewash West Indies in West Indies. 

The third ODI saw Shikhar Dhawan winning the toss, and opting to bat first. In a rain-curtailed match, Shubman Gill remained not out on 98. Gill got support from Dhawan (58) and Shreyas Iyer (44) as India made 225/3 in 36 overs. 

Due to D/L method, West Indies crumbled in the revised target of 257 from 35 overs. Captain Nicholas Pooran and Brandon King made 42 each as West Indies were bundled out for just 137 runs in 26 overs. Yuzvendra Chahal took 4 wickets. Whereas Siraj and Shardul took 2 each.

Team India: 225/3 from 36 overs

Hayden Walsh: 2/57 // Akeal Hosein: 1/43

West Indies: 137/10 from 26 overs

Nicholas Pooran: 42(32) // Brandon King: 42(37)

Yuzvendra Chahal: 4/17 //  Mohammed Siraj: 2/14 

Result: Team India won by 119 runs (D/L method) 

Team India would now be back to playing the shortest format. Rohit Sharma will be back as the captain of the side. Whereas Shikhar Dhawan will fly back home.
