ICC’s Latest Player Rankings Out – Suryakumar Yadav takes a Steep Jump

Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, and Virat Kohi, the leading batters in ICC’s latest player rankings as on August 3, 2022. 

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the latest player rankings as on August 3, 2022. The T20I rankings see Suryakumar Yadav jumping 2 places from rank 4 to rank 2  after his match-winning 76 off 44 balls. He now has 816 points; just 2 less than number 1 ranked T20I batter, Babar Azam. 

Suryakumar Yadav has had a brilliant start to his T20I career. In the 20 innings he has played for India, SKY has scored 648 runs at a superb strike rate of 175.6; highest among all Indian batters. In addition, SKY has scored a brilliant century (117 runs); the highest score by an Indian batter in 2nd innings of a T20I.    

Other Players in Top 10

While Suryakumar Yadav is the number 1 ranked Indian batter in T20Is, the Test and ODI format has other players. Rishabh Pant is the number 1 ranked Indian batter in Test format with a rank of 5. Whereas Virat Kohli is the number 1 ranked Indian batter in ODI format with a rank of 5.

Apart from these three, the number 1 ranked Indian bowler in Test, ODI, and T20I are as follows. Ravichandran Ashwin with a rank of 2 is the number 1 ranked Indian bowler in Tests. Jasprit Bumrah with a rank of  2 is the number 1 ranked Indian bowler in ODIs. Whereas Bhuvneshwar Kumar with a rank of 8 is the number 1 ranked Indian bowler in T20Is.
