Latest: Team India Create this Unique Bilateral Series Record

The Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma led Team India has set the record for the most number of bilateral series win vs West Indies.

The ongoing bilateral ODI series record saw Team India complete a unique record vs West Indies. After winning the 2nd ODI vs West Indies by 2 wickets, India became the first team to win 12 consecutive bilateral ODI series win against a single team.

The previous record was held by Pakistan, who won 11 consecutive ODI series against Zimbabwe. However, Zimbabwe aren’t a strong opponent as compared to West Indies, so the record help by India hold more significance.

Team India have been unbeaten between 2007 and 2022 in all ODI series against West Indies. Between 1st Jan 2007 and before 2nd ODI from 2022, India won a total of 37 ODIs from 52 ODIs. That’s a whopping win % of 71.1%.

If India are able to whitewash West Indies in the ongoing ODI series, this would be their back-to-back ODI series whitewash over West Indies. But with series already under bag, India would be doing some experimentation in their playing 11.

Changes in 3rd ODI?

With the series already under the belt, it would be interesting to see if Team India gives changes to new players in the series. The likes of Ruturaj Gaikwad, Rahul Tripathi are waiting to get a chance in the ODIs. While Ruturaj has already played for India in T20Is, Rahul Tripathi is yet to to play for Team India. In addition, Team India can also think of giving Arshdeep Singh a chance to debut in the ODIs.
