Cheteshwar Pujara reignites his limited-overs skills with an aggressive knock vs Warwickshire in a List A match while playing for Sussex.
Cheteswar Pujara as we all know is Team India’s Test specialist. He plays only one format for Team India and is not in contention for neither T20Is nor ODIs. He is even not a part of any team in IPL, although he had in the recent past, he was at least a part of the squad.
But what happened on Friday was something that came out of the syllabus. While playing for Sussex vs Warwickshire, Cheteshwar Pujara reignited his limited-over skills with an aggressive knock. Pujara smashed 107 runs off just 79 balls at a strike rate of 135.4 including 7 fours and 2 sixes.
What’s more, Pujara also smashed 22 runs off Liam Norwell’s over in the 45th over of the match. He smashed 4, 2, 4, 2, 6, 4 in the six balls he faced against Norwell. This is something you don’t expect Puajra to do. He is known to play defensive cricket, but seeing him play an aggressive brand of cricket is a delight to watch.

The current form of Cheteshwar Pujara might prompt the Indian team to give him a chance in ODIs. India are preparing for the ODI World Cup 2022, which is scheduled in India, and Pujara will be trying to have a shot at that. In addition, Pujara’s form shall also help him score with confidence in the Test matches too.
