India vs Zimbabwe 2024: 3rd T20 New Playing 11 for Indian Team

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sanju Samson added we look at the latest new playing 11 for India vs Zimbabwe 2024 T20 series.

Two matches into the series, and India and Zimbabwe are leveled 1-1 in the 5-match T20 series. After stunning the visitors in the first T20I, Zimbabwe were completely undone in the second T20I as India smashed 230 runs and secured a 100-run victory. Abhishek Sharma smashed a maiden ton in only his second International match; thus becoming the youngest player to smash a T20I ton in terms of the number of innings.

With two matches being played back-to-back, both teams are getting a much-deserving 2-day break before the action unfolds on July 10th. But before we move to the third T20I, the Indian team will see a few changes in the squad. After missing the first two T20Is due to felicitation being done in India for the T20 World Cup 2024 victory, the trio of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson, and Shivam Dube have now joined the squad.

While Team India ideally would have liked to continue the same winning combination, the returning trio will now allow them to do so. So, with Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson, and Shivam Dube, all three expected to play, what will be the latest best playing 11 for Team India for the 2024 3rd T20 vs Zimbabwe? Well, let’s look at the same in this article.

India vs Zimbabwe 2024 3rd T20 New Best Playing 11:

With 3 new players being added to the squad, we can expect India to also make 3 changes in the playing 11. Yashasvi Jaiswal is the first-choice opener for India irrespective of how Abhishek performed. But with Abhishek’s stunning ton, he might just keep his place in the squad, purely because of his all-round abilities, and Sai Sudharsan should move out. So, expect Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal to open with the batting with Abhishek Sharma at 3 and Ruturaj Gaikwad at 4.

The return of Sanju Samson means Dhruv Jurel will have to make way for Sanju as the primary wicket-keeping option. It’s unfortunate Dhruv didn’t get much chance to bat, but certainly did impress in the wicket-keeping department. But Sanju Samson is already projected as the second-choice keeper after Rishabh Pant, and deserves more opportunities in Pant’s absence.

Finally, Shivam Dube’s addition means Riyan Parag will have to sit out. Riyan didn’t impress in the first T20I, and in the second T20I, he didn’t get to bat. Overall, there is a lack of fifth quality bowling option in the side, so with Shivam Dube added, he alongside Abhishek should make up for the 4 overs between them. Meanwhile, the bowling should remain unchanged for Team India.
