#7: Shubman Gill’s 101 vs SRH

Score: 101(58) // 4s: 13 // 6s: 1 // SR: 174.1

Another player who scored a hundred against the bottom-ranked team, SRH. This time it is Shubman Gill’s 101 off 58 balls at his favourite Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Gill took minimal risk in his batting as he mostly dealt with fours in his knock with a solo six coming towards his century. Gill’s century comprised of 13 fours and 1 six with 58 runs in boundaries.

#6: Prabsimran Singh’s 103 vs DC

Score: 103(65) // 4s: 10 // 6s: 6 // SR: 158.5

Probably the best knock of the year so far came from Suryakumar Yadav, who scored a sublime 103 off 49 balls against a strong bowling lineup of Gujarat Titans. MI needed a win to stay afloat in the tournament, and SKY brought all his hitting skills in his 49 balls 103. SKY spared none – be it Rashid, Noor, or Shami. SKY hit 11 fours and 6 sixes with 80 runs in boundaries to lift MI to a match-winning 218/5.

#4: Shubman Gill’s 104 vs RCB

Score: 104*(52) // 4s: 5 // 6s: 8 // SR: 200

The most recent of the lot, Shubman Gill hit a fantastic century to knock RCB out of the tournament. In the same match, Gill’s idol, Virat Kohli hit back-to-back centuries, and the feat was repeated by Gill during his 52 ball 104. Gill hit 5 fours and 8 sublime sixes during his match-winning chase of 198.

#3: Heinrich Klaasen’s 104 vs RCB

Score: 104(51) // 4s: 8 // 6s: 6 // SR: 203.9

Another instance where RCB were at the receiving end, but this came in a winning cause for them. The one-man army of SRH, Heinrich Klaasen scored 104 off 51 balls with 8 fours and 6 sixes, thus scoring 84 runs in boundaries. Klaasen’s fabulous century lifted SRH to 186, which was overpowered by Kohli’s century.

#2: Venkatesh Iyer’s 104 vs MI

Score: 104(51) // 4s: 6 // 6s: 9 // SR: 203.9

The second-highest score comes from an Indian, Venkatesh Iyer, who registered his maiden century in IPL. Iyer scored a stunning 104 off 51 balls against a weak bowling lineup of MI. Iyer’s century did lift KKR to a good total of 185.6, but it was chased down by MI in just 17.4 overs. Even though KKR lost, Venkatesh was awarded the POTM award.

#1: Yashasvi Jaiswal’s 124 vs MI

Score: 124(62) // 4s: 16 // 6s: 8 // SR: 200

The knock for the ages as the number 1 on the list is by another Indian but uncapped player, Yashasvi Jaiswal. The audacity of this knock is such that Yashasvi Jaiswal hit 112 runs in boundaries with a boundary percentage of 90.3. Unfortunately, RR lost this match even after scoring 212. But that takes nothing away from Yashasvi Jaiswal’s stunning century.

So, that’s about the best 11 highest individual player score in the group stage of IPL 2023.
