WPL 2024 Auction: Complete Salary Details of Retained 60 Players

60 players and 49.85 Cr utilized as we look at the complete salary details of all the retained players ahead of the WPL 2024 Auction.

The second edition of the Women’s Premier League witnessed a total of 60 players getting retained ahead of the WPL 2024 Mini Auction. While 39 Indian players were retained, the 5 teams retained a total of 21 overseas players. Delhi Capitals retained the maximum number of players, 15. Whereas Gujarat Giants retained the least number of players, 8. 

To recap, the first edition of the Women’s Premier League, the WPL 2023 saw teams being given a budget of INR 12 Cr to purchase a maximum of 18 players. However, this will change in the second edition with teams being given an additional purse of 1.5 Cr; thus a total of 13.5 Cr purse value per team. 

With 60 players in hand, let’s look at the official salary of all these players ahead of the WPL 2024 Mini Auction. We will also look at the space available for teams to purchase new players, and the available purse. This will give us a good indication as to how much each team can spend on the new players. 

#1: Delhi Capitals

Delhi Capitals have retained 15 players ahead of the WPL 2024 Auction. Of the 15 players, Jemimah Rodrigues at INR 2.2 Cr is their costliest player. Whereas Titas Sadhu at INR 0.25 Cr is their least costliest player. The team has a space for 3 more players, and can spend INR 2.25 Cr for that.

Gujarat Giants retained only 8 players ahead of the WPL 2024 Auction. While Ashleigh Gardner is their costliest player at INR 3.2 Cr, Shabnam Shakil is the least costliest player at 0.1 Cr. Overall, Gujarat Giants have 5.95 Cr with them, and they can purchase 10 more players with that amount.

The defending champions, Mumbai Indians retained 13 players ahead of the WPL 2024 Auction. Of the 13 players, Nat Sciver remains the costliest at a salary of INR 3.2 Cr. Whereas they have Humaira Kazi, Jintamani Kalita, and Saika Ishaque with the lowest salary at INR 0.1 Cr. Overall, Mumbai Indians have INR 2.1 Cr left in the kitty with space for 5 more players.

The RCB Women’s team retained a total of 11 players ahead of the WPL 2024 Auction. Smriti Mandhana remains not only their costliest player but also the costliest among all 5 teams at INR 3.4 Cr. Whereas Disha Kasat, Indrani Roy, Asha Shobana, and Shreyanka Patil have a salary of INR 0.1 Cr each. Overall RCB currently have a purse of INR 3.3 Cr, and they can purchase 7 players with that.

Whereas Laxmi Yadav, Parshavi Chopra, and S. Yashasri have a salary of INR 0.1 Cr each. Overall, UPW have INR 4 Cr in their kitty, and they can purchase 5 players with that.
