IPL 2024: MI vs RCB Best Suitable Playing 11 for Both Teams

Stalwarts Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in focus as we look at the best predicted playing 11 for MI vs RCB match 25 of IPL 2024.

It’s match number 25 of the TATA IPL 2024, and it is the clash at the bottom-ranked teams as the Mumbai Indians take on the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in their home den, Mumbai. When the tournament started, who would have imagined that we would see Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bengaluru strangling at the bottom of the points table with just 1 win from 4-5 games?

It has been a shocking start to both teams, and more so for Mumbai Indians, who were undoubtedly the strongest team on paper before the start of the tournament. While Mumbai Indians lost their first three matches, they must be happy with the result of the fourth match as they defeated DC by a big margin. The return of SKY did change the fortunes for MI, and it looks like a positive upward movement for them from here on.

Meanwhile, for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, things aren’t looking positive from any direction, except for Virat Kohli’s contribution. Ignoring the strike rate discussion surrounding around Virat Kohli, the team as a whole has been a disappointment. Starting from the Captain’s contribution with the bat, there has hardly been any positive contributions from the likes of Maxwell, Green, Patidar, or Siraj.

Match and Pitch Details:

Tournament: IPL 2024

Type: Match 25 – MI vs RCB

Where: Mumbai

When: April 11, 2024 // 7:30 pm IST

The Mumbai pitch has typically favored the batting, and the match on Thursday should also be the same. If Mumbai Indians bat first, expect this to be a high-scoring encounter. But if RBC bat first, do not expect a 200+ score unless we see a solid team contribution from the RCB players. So, overall, what team combination will both teams adopt? Well, let’s look at the IPL 2024 MI vs RCB best playing 11 and fantasy lineups for match 25.

Mumbai Indians Best Playing 11 vs RCB

In the last match against Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians’ batting lineup was boosted with the return of the World’s number 1 T20 batter, Suryakumar Yadav. While SKY couldn’t contribute much with the bat, his presence did make a good impact as Mumbai Indians played with confidence, and without any pressure. With MI winning the last match, expect them to continue with the same winning combination with Akash Madhwal continuing as an impact player.

While Mumbai Indians finally got off the mark in the last match against Delhi Capitals, they would like to continue the winning momentum as their next two matches will also be played at home. There is no doubt about the quality of this MI side, and it was surprising to see them lose three matches on the trot. But better late than never, MI seems to be finally giving their best performance.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru Ideal Playing 11 vs MI

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru team is struggling big time when it comes to fielding their best playing 11, and also finalizing their best batting-order. Not once in the the five matches that they have played so far, have we seen a stable batting-order from the side. This is a big concern area for RCB, who are already struggling big time with their bowling.

The team needs to play to an individual’s strength. For example, Cameron Green isn’t a finisher, so asking him to come at 4-5, and start hitting in the middle and death overs isn’t his capability. He is a top-order batter, and if you are not utilizing him in that manner, things will always be tough. Similarly, the team needs clarity for Rajat Patidar and Glenn Maxwell as there is always a big shuffle in their batting-order too.

Ideally, Virat Kohli should sacrifice his opening position, and let Cameron Green open the innings alongside Faf du Plessis. Virat Kohli can play at number 3 without any issues, but Cameron Green can’t play that well at number 5. With Rajat Patidar at number 4 position, and Glenn Maxwell at 5, things look much better for them in terms of their batting-order. In addition, Mahipal Lomror should play as a finisher for then them no matter what. It’s a shocker to see the finisher who did well for them warming the bench.
