Emerging Asia Cup 2023: Final Squad Players List for India A Team

15-member squad to fly to Colombo, Sri Lanka as we look at the final official squad list for India A Team for Emerging Men’s Asia Cup 2023. 

After winning the Emerging Women’s Asia Cup 2023, the focus now shifts to the Men’s India A team that will be playing the Emerging Men’s Asia Cup 2023. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has selected a 15-member squad led by the 2022 U19 World Cup winning captain, Yash Dhull.

It’s an exciting mix of talent with most of them already impressing in the Indian Premier League. Team India have selected a total of 4 batters, 2 wicket-keepers, 7 all-rounders, and 2 specialist bowlers in the squad. While Dhull will captain Team India, Abhishek Sharma shall be his deputy.

From the batters, all eyes will be on Sai Sudharsan, who has been excellent with his performance in the Indian Premier League. Similarly, the likes of Dhruv Jurel, Prabsimran Singh, Abhishek Sharma, Riyan Parag, Akash Singh, and Harshit Rana have been brilliant with their performance in IPL.  

India A’s Squad for Emerging Men’s Asia Cup 2023 

Batters: Nikin Jose, Pradosh Ranjan Paul, Sai Sudharsan & Yash Dhull (c)

WKs: Dhruv Jurel &  Prabhsimran Singh

All-rounders: Abhishek Sharma (vc), Manav Suthar, Nishant Sindhu, Nitish Reddy, Rajvardhan Hangargekar, Riyan Parag & Yuvrajsinh Dodiya

Bowlers: Akash Singh & Harshit Rana

In addition to the above-mentioned squad, Team India have selected batters Harsh Dubey and Neha Wadhera, wicket-keeper Snell Patel, and All-rounder Mohit Redkar as backup players in case of any injury concerns. From the backups, Nehal Wadhera was impressive with his performance for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2023. 

Emerging Men’s Asia Cup 2023 Format

The ACC Emerging Men’s Asia Cup 2023 begins on July 13 with the final to be played on July 23. A total of 8 teams will be participating in the tournament, which will see a 50-over format. Afghanistan A, Bangladesh A, Sri Lanka A, and Oman are placed in group A. Whereas India A, Nepal, UAE, and Pakistan A are placed in Group B.

Each team will play a total of 3 Group Stage matches. The top 2 teams from each group will then proceed to the Semi finals. Team India will kick-start their campaign by playing UAE A on July 14. India will then play Nepal on July 17, and the blockbuster India A vs Pakistan A is on July 19. 

Emerging Men’s Asia Cup 2023 Team India Fixtures:

  • 1st Match – India A vs UAE A // July 14, 10 am IST
  • 2nd Match – India A vs Nepal // July 17, 2 pm IST
  • 3rd Match – India A vs Pakistan A // July 19, 2 pm IST 

The India A matches act as a great platform for budding cricketers to showcase their talent. It acts as a good entry point in the national team, and also the Indian Premier League for the ones not playing. Hopefully, we see a dominating performance from the Indian team, and are able to win the tournament like the Indian Women’s team did last month.
