A total of 165 names set to go under the hammer as we look at the official complete short-listed WPL 2024 Auction Players list.

We are only a week away from witnessing the most exciting event in Women’s Cricket, the Women’s Premier League 2024 Auction. The second edition of the Women’s Premier League, the WPL 2024 will kick-start with the Mini Auction, which is set to take place on December 9 in Mumbai. As many as 165 names are set to go under the hammer with 61 being overseas players and 105 being Indian players.

Earlier last month, all 5 teams retained a total of 60 players with 21 being overseas and 39 being Indian players. With 60 retentions already done, teams now have space for 30 more players with a maximum of 9 overseas spots to be filled. The teams have already spent INR 49.85 Cr to retain 60 players. They now have INR 17.65 Cr, which they can use to buy 30 more players. 

So, as we wait for the Auction to begin, let’s look at the complete official short-listed WPL 2024 Auction Players List. Given the price bracket, we shall break down the list based on the base price of INR 0.5 Cr, INR 0.4 Cr, INR 0.3 Cr, INR 0.2 Cr, and INR 0.1 Cr. To simplify further, we shall break down the list basis the player category or player country, which is more useful.  

Complete WPL 2024 Auction Players List:

The INR 0.5 and 0.4 Cr base price has only 6 players. While two are from the 0.5 Cr bracket, 4 are from the 0.4 Cr bracket. Of the six players, none is from India. While Annabel, Georgia, and Kim are from Australia, Deandra is from the West Indies, Shabnim is from South Africa, and Amy is from England.

Coming to the INR 0.4 Cr bracket, a total of 50 players fall under this bracket. Of the 50 players, All-rounders dominate the names with as many as 19 of them. They are followed by 18 bowlers, 9 batters, and 4 WIcket-keepers.

Finally, talking about the INR 0.1 Cr base price, there are as many as 105 names on the list. Breaking it down further, 13 players are from Associate nations and 92 players are Uncapped players. Of the uncapped players, 82 are Indian players and 10 are Overseas players from Australia and England.
