Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) purchase 7 players in the Auction as we look at their full official squad and best playing 11 for IPL 2023.

The only team in the tournament that is led by a foreign Captain as of today, the Royal Challengers Bangalore had a superb squad even before the IPL 2023 Auction. All they needed were good backups to support, and they got that by purchasing 7 players.

RCB spent only INR 7 crores in the Auction. RCB spent INR 3.8 and 1.9 Cr on Will Jacks and Reece Topley; the most RCB spent on any player in the Auction. The Royal Challengers Bangalore still have INR 1.75 Cr left, which may be of no use in 2022, but can come in handy in 2023.

Overall, RCB purchased Reece Topley and Will Jacks as their overseas options from the Auction. In addition, RCB got Himanshu Sharma, Manoj Bhandage, Rajan Kumar, Avinash Singh, and Sonu Yadav. So, here’s the complete list of players that RCB took from the Auction.

Best Playing 11 for RCB:

Talking about the best first-choice 11 for RCB, it looks almost in line with their IPL 2022 playing 11. We should see Captain Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli as openers. They should be followed by Rajat Patidar, Glenn Maxwell, and Mahipal Lomror.

With Maxwell and Lomror as part-time spin options, we should see finishers in the form of Dinesh Karthik and Shahbaz Ahmed. Apart from these 5, Wanindu Hasaranga and Harshal Patel can provide decent lower-order options.

Finally, coming to their bowling, we should see Josh Hazlewood leading the pace attack with Mohammed Siraj being the second-best pacer. Harshal Patel and Wanindu Hasaranga provide good middle-over options. Whereas Shahbaz Ahmed, Maxwell, and Lomror can continue with their part-time spin option.
