A total of 60 players retained as we look at the complete squad and players list for all 5 teams ahead of the WPL 2024 Auction. 

The prelude to the second edition of the Women’s Premier League, the WPL 2024 kick-off in style with all 5 teams announcing their player retentions ahead of the WPL 2024 Auction. A total of 60 players have been retained by the 5 franchises with 39 being Indian players and 21 being overseas players.

Of the 60 players that have been retained, Delhi Capitals have retained the maximum number of players, 15. Whereas Gujarat Giants have retained the least number of players, 8. From the Auction purse point of view, Gujarat Giants have the maximum purse at INR 5.95 Cr. Whereas Mumbai Indians have the least purse at INR 2.1 Cr. 

With 60 players being retained, teams now have 30 more players to fill with 9 spots left for the overseas players. While we don’t know the exact date of the WPL 2024 Auction, let’s in the meantime look at the complete retained squad and players for all 5 teams ahead of the WPL 2024 Auction.

Delhi Capitals have retained the maximum number of players, 15. Delhi have retained 10 Indian and 5 overseas players. The players released by Delhi Capitals include Aparna Mondal, Jasia Akhter, and Tara Norris. Some of the key players retained by DC include Jemimah Rodrigues, Meg Lanning, Jess Jonassen, Mairzanne Kapp, and Shafali Verma. Delhi now have a space for 3 more players with a purse value of INR 2.25 Cr.
