TATA WPL 2024: Download Full Schedule for the Tournament

Bengaluru to host the first match as we look at the confirmed official schedule for Women’s Premier League’s second edition, TATA WPL 2024.

The second edition of the Women’s Premier League is just a day away, and we are already eagerly waiting for the event after a successful season 1. The WPL as we call it is a Women’s version of the Indian Premier League that was started in 2023. The tournament was played with 5 teams last year, and it will continue this year as well. 

The second season of the WPL will begin on February 22, 2024, with defending champions Mumbai Indians taking on the Delhi Capitals in Bengaluru. The tournament will witness a total of 22 matches in a span of 24 days. From the location perspective, only Bengaluru and Delhi will be hosting all the matches. While Bengaluru will be hosting 11 matches, Delhi will also be hosting 11 matches including two knockout matches. 

TATA WPL 2024 Schedule Official Format: 

The format for WPL 2024 is similar to that we had seen last year. Given there are 5 teams, each team will play the other four teams twice in the Home and Away format; thus a total of 20 group stage matches. The topper of the group stage will direly qualify for the Final. Whereas the second and third-placed teams will play the Eliminator. The winner of the Eliminator will then play the Final against the top-placed team.

The tournament will not see any double headers, unlike the Indian Premier League. Instead, there will be no gap days before the Knockouts, and every day we will witness one match. Overall, there will be a total of 4 weekends including the Final, which will be played on March 17th on Sunday. Meanwhile, all matches shall begin at 7:30 pm IST.
