India vs Australia 2023: Last 3 T20 Series Official Squad List

A total of 3 players part of all as we look at the official T20 squad and players list for Team India for the last three series ahead of India vs Australia 2023. 

The ODI World Cup 2023 is going on in full flow, and as expected, Team India became the first team to qualify for the semi-finals. It has been a dominant performance by Team India with an unbeaten 7-match streak so far. Almost everyone from the team has performed to make this look like a complete team effort.

With ODIs gaining popularity in the last 1 year due to ODI World Cup 2023, the focus will once again shift to T20s post the World Cup. India will be facing their first assignment post the World Cup with a 5-match T20 series against the mighty Kangaroos. The 5-match T20 series begins on November 23 with the last T20 being played on December 03. 

The Australian team recently announced the official T20 series squad. However, the Indian team are yet to announce the squad in lieu of the World Cup. We are expecting the announcement by BCCI very soon. But before that, let’s look at the official squad for Team India for the last three T20 series. 

India vs New Zealand 2023 Official T20 Series Squad for Team India:

Batters: Prithvi Shaw, Rahul Tripathi, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shubman Gill & Suryakumar Yadav [vc]

Wks: Ishan Kishan & Jitesh Sharma

All-rounders: Deepak Hooda, Hardik Pandya [c] & Washington Sundar

Bowlers: Arshdeep Singh, Kuldeep Yadav, Mukesh Kumar, Shivam Mavi, Umran Malik & Yuzvendra Chahal

Team India played the New Zealand T20 series just before the IPL. The 3-match T20 series was led by Hardik Pandya with Suryakumar Yadav being his deputy. With experienced players rested, the Hardik-led team had Prithvi Shaw, Rahul Tripathi, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shubman Gill, and SKY among the batters,

The wicket-keepers duties laid on Ishan Kishan and Jitesh Sharma. Whereas the All-rounder duties were with Deepak Hooda, Hardik Pandya, and Washington Sundar. Finally, the bowling duties were headed by Arshdeep Singh, Kuldeep Yadav, Mukesh Kumar, Shivam Mavi, Umran Malik, and Yuzvendra Chahal

India vs West Indies 2023 Official T20 Series Squad for Team India:

Batters: Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav (vc), Tilak Varma & Yashasvi Jaiswal

WKs: Ishan Kishan & Sanju Samson

All-rounders: Axar Patel & Hardik Pandya

Bowlers: Arshdeep Singh, Avesh Khan, Kuldeep Yadav, Mukesh Kumar, Ravi Bishnoi, Umran Malik & Yuzvendra Chahal

The very next T20 series post the IPL 2023 saw quite a good number of changes in the squad. With IPL 2023 performance as the benchmark, India dropped Prithvi Shaw, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Rahul Tripathi, Jitesh Sharma, Deepak Hooda, and Shivam Mavi. But the ones who got the opportunity include Tilak Varma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson, Axar Patel, and Ravi Bishnoi.

Batters: Rinku Singh, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Tilak Varma & Yashasvi Jaiswal

WKs: Jitesh Sharma & Sanju Samson

All-rounders: Shahbaz Ahmed, Shivam Dube & Washington Sundar

Bowlers: Arshdeep Singh, Avesh Khan, Jasprit Bumrah (c), Mukesh Kumar, Prasidh Krishna & Ravi Bishnoi 

The most recent T20 series was played between India and Ireland. The series saw India resting a lot of first-choice T20 players due to Asia Cup commitment. Hence, the team had a lot of new faces in the form of Rinku Singh, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shahbaz Ahmed, Shivam Dube, Washington Sundar, Prasidh Krishna, and Jasprit Bumrah, who was the Captain.

With India taking on Australia after the ODI World Cup 2023, we should once again see quite a good number of changes in the squad. Expect India to once again rest Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya. But the ones that are likely to return are Shubman Gill, Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav, and Axar Patel.
