MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli, the stars in focus as we look at the best predicted playing 11 for CSK vs RCB Match 1 for IPL 2024.

It is almost time for the biggest T20 tournament of the year, the Indian Premier League. The 17th edition of the World’s premier T20 tournament, IPL 2024 will kick-off on March 22nd with the defending champions CSK taking on the brand RCB, which only recently won the WPL 2024 championship. CSK’s home ground Chennai will host the first match with the match scheduled to start at 8 pm after the opening ceremony.

It’s difficult to believe, but 1 year already looks like a very long time since the IPL 2023 was concluded. As an Indian cricket team fan, one year already looks quite long given the team lost two golden opportunities to secure an ICC trophy. Having performed superbly throughout the tournament in both events, India lost two golden finals vs Australia – WTC 2021-23 and ODI World Cup 2023.

But we finally have the excitement of IPL 2024 for us to recover from the loss, and focus on something exciting our way. The IPL 2024 brings a lot of excitement to us, and what better than a CSK vs RCB match that promises the clash of the Titans? Both teams have some really great players that will make this contest supreme. So, as we wait for the match to begin, let’s in the meantime look at the best predicted playing 11 for CSK vs RCB match 1 of IPL 2024.

Chennai Super Kings Best Predicted Playing 11

For CSK, the biggest news is that both Devon Conway and Matheesha Pathirana are not available for most part of the tournament. So, in Conway’s absence, CSK have two options to explore. They either open with Rahane and play Moeen Ali at 3, or open with Rachin, and play Rahane at 3 and Moeen as a floater. Given the team’s strength, CSK may opt to use Rachin as an opener in place of Conway.

With Ruturaj, Rachin, and Rahane set as the top-order, CSK have a solid middle-order to rely on with Daryl Mitchell at 4 and Shivam Dube at 5. Both Mitchell and Dube are brilliant players of spin bowling. With the top 5 set, Jadeja, Moeen, and Dhoni will form the best finisher combination for CSK. In addition, CSK also have Deepak and Shardul as two more options for lower-order batting.

Coming to the bowling, CSK will rely on three quality Indian pacers, Deepak Chahar, Shardul Thakur, and Mukesh Choudhary. With Chennai pitch assisting spin bowling, CSK will have Maheesh Theekshana as the leading spinner with support from Ravindra Jadeja, Moeen Ali, and Rachin Ravindra. Even without Pathirana, this is a really good bowling attack for CSK.
